How to get to you Snowboarding holiday in Poland

If you have decided to travel to Poland via your own means (All of our packages can include flights and airport transfers) then here we have a few tips and guidelines on how to get there.

By Air:

If you are flying in to Poland, Krakow airport is the closest you will get to Zakopane by plane.

From the airport you have a few options, the fastest and easiest way is to rent a car and drive to Zakopane. Although this will be much more expensive than including airport transfers into your package. Zakopane is about 2 hours drive form Krakow, however on weekends, school holidays and national holidays the traffic can be bad.

By Car:

If you do decide to drive yourself please consider that Poland has the highest road accident rate in Europe. If you are inexperienced at driving on snow and ice you should maybe reconsider your options. All of Sunshine World's drivers and partner companies are locals that have been driving these roads for their whole lives and have huge amounts of experience driving in bad conditions.

By Bus:

Your other options are by bus that goes direct to Zakopane from Krakow. By train, this take much longer but could be good if you would prefer to see more of Poland's scenery. Or by taxi, around 5 times the price of a Sunshine World transfer.
